Sharks Ice is proud to bring you the tenth season of the HP High School Hockey League, the premier high school ice hockey league in Northern California. We offer two seperate divisions, a Junior Varsity and a Varsity division. Unlike traditional high school sports where Junior Varsity and Varsity are predominantly decided by age, our divisions are exclusively decided by skill level. The Junior Varsity division will be made up of recreational/in-house/Travel B players, while the Varsity division will be comprised of Travel A/Tier players. No matter your skill level, there is a spot for you in the HP High School Hockey League.
In its first year of existance, the HP High School Ice Hockey League began with just four teams. For the 2008-2009 season, nineteen teams were fielded with players from all over the Bay Area from as far north as Santa Rosa, Salinas to the south, Walnut Creek to the east and Santa Cruz to the west.
With more and more kids playing ice hockey, Sharks Ice can now form teams made up solely of one school or geographical area. All players need to be enrolled in high school in Northern California. They also must provide all of their own HECC approved equipment. Practices and games will take place at Sharks Ice at San Jose and at the Oakland Ice Center. Most games will take place on the weekends with an occasional game played mid-week.
